Earth Month 2019

LiveGreen is excited to announce our full slate of Earth MONTH activities for this year!  As requested, we have spread out our events over the entire month to make it easier for you to attend.  Each item is linked with all the details you need to know.

On Campus:

All Month Drawdown EcoChallenge.  Visit the website to pledge to take a simple action, including educating yourself on a new topic. Join our team to earn points, win prizes, and make the planet better (oh, and help us beat UNO’s team for the 2nd challenge in a row).  Invite your friends and family to participate on our team—the more the merrier!

April 3rd: Re-Imagining U Course Join campus Sustainability Manager Melanie Stewart to learn easy ways to incorporate sustainability into your daily life, as well as resources available to the campus community.  Please note, this is being held at UNO’s Community Engagement Center.

Week of April 8th:  The RePurpose It Contest is back!  Get your periodical storage item and get started on your project.  Prizes available and entire campus can vote for a winner.

April 9th: Flexibility is Within Your Reach.  Join the Center for Healthy Living’s Peter Pellerito to learn simple stretches that can alleviate pain, prevent future injury and keep you moving.

April 17th: I Cycle, We Cycle, B-Cycle!  Learn about B-Cycles, test one out, and get free helmets and memberships!

April 19th: Celebrate Arbor Day with a Tree Planting, Tree and Wildflower giveaway, and ask Master Gardener Susan Siebler all your questions!

April 24th-25th: Personal Document Shredding and Electronic, Battery, and Techno Trash Recycling

April 27th: Nebraska Medicine and Keep Omaha Beautiful Park Cleanup, Spring Lake Park, 1pm-3pm

May 1st: Achieving Zero Waste. Join the College of Public Health’s Lunch and Learn to talk about the campus’s Zero Waste goal and Progress, as well as what you can do to reduce waste (and save money) at home.
